When Lisa was trying to book her wedding photographer way back in the early days, we tried for weeks, if not months to connect. It was crazy and the first time this has happened – her crazy schedule and mine just never seemed to match to give us enough time to talk. However, Lisa remained committed to hiring me and eventually we tied each other down and contracts were signed. And I am over the moon that we did! I was booked to arrive an hour and a half before the ceremony in order to photograph the bride and bridesmaids prep – was i ever shocked to walk in the door to see everyone dressed and ready to go. And I mean everyone! Lisa’s hair and makeup were perfect, her dress was on and I thought hmmm… This is a first! What will we shoot for an hour and a half? No one knew where the groom was (apparently he was in the pool) so there was no popping into his room for the groomsmen photos. We couldn’t leave the room because we didn’t want to run into any wedding guests or the groom. But little did I know that Lisa and her girls are crazy! And were up for anything. So the time flew by and we had a lot of fun shooting away.
I first met Pasquale at the bar in the hotel lobby as we were waiting for the bus. I was warned by the girls NOT to tell the guys to let it all hang out, or else they literally would! And the moment I met them all I knew – I’d have to keep an eye on this lot. So much friendship and history between these guys meant anything goes – and really, that means anything.
Lisa is gentle, kind and sweet. And stunning. Pasquale is cool, way cool. But what a softie. Excuses to keep the glasses on because of the sun just weren’t believed – this is a man who LOVES his bride and without the sunglasses the world would see the depth of this love. Pasquale, you can keep the glasses on, but we all know better 🙂
This wedding was pure laughter, laughter and more laughter, love, funny faces, crazy dances, near strip teases, cake in the face, trash-the-groom. White converse, purple bow ties. We also had the most uncoordinated bridal party jumping on the beach that I have every experienced. No matter how much we tried to time it these girls were off. Way off. And we just couldn’t stop laughing about it. It so suited their personalities and a perfect photo just would not do the energy of this day justice.
I could go on and on but I’ll let this handful of pics tell part of the story.
