I’ve known Mark for many years off and on but their wedding day was the first time that I had the privilege of meeting Tamara – and boy, have I missed out! Tamara is absolutely one of the funniest and most free-spirited women that I have met. Originally from Haiti she has been living in the Bahamas for many years and I cannot believe our paths have not crossed. My first intro to Tamara was when Matthew Sweeting (the officiant) played her entrance song UPTOWN FUNK and she danced and laughed her way down the aisle. Lots of laughs, some giggles and a few inside jokes later, we were photographing the signing of the register while their good friends Ana (singer) and husband Peo (guitar) performed the beautiful Etta James song AT LAST. After the official announcement of Nassau’s newest newlyweds Mark and Tamara then danced their way along the beach to the sounds of HAPPY by Pharrell Williams. Talk about great music choices and high energy!
After photos on the beach Mark and Tamara were kind enough to invite me to join them and their guests for champagne and dinner (delicious catered Indian) at their very intimate reception dinner. I had no idea I would spend the next few hours laughing hysterically as Tamara recounted the story of the first time she met Mark along with crazy stories of their next few dates. Suffice it to say for him it was pretty much love at first sight, for her – well, not so much BUT as in all great love stories there was something about Mark that kept her coming back. Their shared sense of humour, their passion for adventure, and their similar journey’s and experiences through life mean this is a couple that was so destined to be together. I felt like I had known them for years and I look forward to more cocktails, dinners and hilarious stories of their future adventures together.
Hugs to you both!
