Baha Mar Wedding – Grand Hyatt Bahamas
When I sat down with Conrad and Robin a few days before their wedding I knew instantly that this would be a good energy day. Even though we had emailed back and forth a few times, as with many of my clients we don’t get to meet in person until my bride and groom land on the island. Right away I knew this would be a no-stress wedding at The Bahamas’ newest and hottest oceanside resort with an intimate group of family and friends – the perfect location for Conrad and Robin to escape the cold, northern, winter weather. The Baha Mar mega-resort, home to the Grand Hyatt, Rosewood and SLS brands, offers countless backdrops for portraits of any kind and I loved that Conrad and Robin were open to just meandering the property and stopping whenever something caught my eye. No matter how often I photograph at Baha Mar, I always find new spots which excite me to no end and I love that we were able to show off Robin’s dress in a few of those locations.
On the wedding day we did have a little Bahamas winter weather challenge (lots of wind!) which meant that while the ceremony was still held on the beach, the reception was moved indoors. I’m proud to say that of the 5 weddings on property that day (it is a mega-resort after all), Conrad and Robin were the only risk takers who stayed true to their wish to marry with the sand between their toes. As you can see from the photos, a ‘bad weather’ day in the Bahamas is a pretty good day in many other countries!
Here are a few of my favourites from the day (all shot on FUJI XT-3 cameras/lenses, for the photogs out there who are curious).
