Another Family Portrait Session, Atlantis Paradise Island, Bahamas
In June 2012 I had the privilege of photographing the beautiful Atlantis wedding day of Judy and David. Many people find it hard to believe but I really do remember my clients and their special days, whether it’s 5 or 10 years later. I guess it is inevitable when I invest so much of myself in each of the events and I become so tuned in to all of the details – the decor, the energy, the vows, the tears and the laughter.
What I love just as much as the wedding day is when my clients come back to the Bahamas and reach out to me for family sessions. It’s wonderful to see how their connection to each other has grown over time and to meet new additions to the family as well as to see how the other family members have grown. So I was thrilled to hear from Judy and David after 5.5 years saying they were planning a family vacation at Atlantis – and would I have time to fit in a family portrait session.
We had a super fun hour and a half re-discovering the Atlantis property and using backdrops that we did not have time to explore on the day of their ceremony. Kids always love the rope bridge and the hammerheads that swim under it, and moms always love the sunsets on the beach. Atlantis is a property that certainly keeps everyone happy and entertained!
