A fun and non-stop December wedding at the newest venue at The Atlantis Resort – Oceans Edge – located on the beach in front of The Reef. Such a fabulous location and a great way to have a “beach” wedding and still wear those stiletto heels!
Our afternoon started in the bride’s room – the light in the rooms at The Cove is always so beautiful – and while we were running a little behind on time, we managed to squeeze in a few minutes for a stunning boudoir session (can’t show you those!). Jamie is gorgeous – inside and out – and I really could have spent a day photographing her in a variety of locales. Due to her baby bump she had two magnificent dresses and I just had to make sure there were images of both of them. Jamie’s smile simply lights up a room and her gentleness and generosity were evident throughout the entire day. I am really honoured to have photographed this big day for her and Paul.
We decided to have a very private first look moment (this was preceded by a tearful few minutes as Jamie and Paul read their very personal notes to each other). As usual, I cried too! There was a quiet exchanging of gifts and then off to the ceremony location. Beautifully and simply decorated by Wildflowers, the arbor presented another element to the stunning backdrop of the Bahamas ocean. And with Matthew Sweeting of The Island Preacha officiating, you know there just had to be a few laughs and lots of tears.
The 2nd big event of the day was the “big reveal” – the cutting of the wedding cake which would let all of their family and friends know whether the baby is going to be a boy or girl. I won’t tell you what colour the cake was – you’ll find out when you get to the end. Can’t wait to photograph the little one 🙂
