Bahamas Wedding Venue: Graycliff Restaurant & Hotel, The Bahamas
Jeannie + Dale were such a warm and open couple when I first met them at The One & Only Ocean Club. They had big plans for an intimate wedding weekend with their closest friends and family and I was really touched that they felt that my style suited their vision for that weekend.
The first night was a brief welcome cocktail reception at the oceanfront restaurant and bar, Dune, at the stunning One & Only Ocean Club on Paradise Island.
Day 2 was a rehearsal dinner at the historic Graycliff Hotel & Restaurant, next to Government House in downtown Nassau. A quick history lesson the Graycliff – this beautiful property has a long history beginning with 1666 when it was the location of the first Anglican church in the Bahamas. It then became home to a very wealthy pirate, headquarters to the American Navy (1776), and then it became an inn in 1844. in the 1920’s, the era of prohibition, it was a gathering spot for the rich and famous. Then after years of use as a private residence for various owners, it was purchase in 1973 and turned into the elegant, old world hotel and restaurant that we see today. it is home to the world-renowned Graycliff Wine Cellar which has over 250,000 bottles including the oldest and one of the most expensive in the world ($200,000). I’m just so excited about this property and it was so fitting for the elegance of Jeannie and Dale. Full disclosure – it was HOT and HUMID so we didn’t spend quite as much time taking photos outdoors as we had hoped, but we still had a great time. There were cigars from the award winning Graycliff Cigar company, excellent wine, outstanding finger food and good friends.
And a first experience with oysters on the half shell – so much fun to watch!
And cigars from the award-winning Graycliff Cigar Co (with 16 master rollers!):
