Gorgeous weather for another Cove Eleuthera Bahamas Wedding! So much love, so much laughter! What an amazing wedding weekend to be a part of. Jennifer found me via her friend/client whose son’s wedding I had photographed at the exclusive Lyford Cay Resort in Nassau, Bahamas. I have said repeatedly that I LOVE my Carolina (North AND South) brides and the list has now grown to include Jeni and Chris as well! One of the things that always stands out is the way they prefer to do informal buffet meals – keep on dancing and cocktailing and eat when you are ready. It keeps the flow and the energy of the night moving, and it certainly makes the best use of photography time!
The weekend at the Cove Eleuthera Bahamas started on the Monday night when they had their welcome party for all of the guests. The weather wasn’t the most cooperative so the beach party became an indoor party at The Cove – I love a group that never lets weather be a downer! (I threw in a hammock shot so you can see how crazy the wind was – that’s definitely not the way I hammock should be facing!)
The wedding day started with a yoga session on the pool deck followed by a sea plunge by a few of the braver souls! Right after the bridal prep session Jeni wanted to have a few moments with her family and so we did first looks with both her brother and her Dad – so emotional, so beautiful, definitely moments for a few tears from me!
We then had a few private moments for a first look between Jeni and Chris (thanks for being such a great sport Chris!) and then it was off to the ceremony on the point. What a stunning location for a wedding! One of the best moments was the surprise that Jeni had planned (even the groom was completely unaware!); since the walk from the pool deck to the ceremony site is quite long Jeni came up with a plan to make the best use of one of our local Junkanoo group and so she was hidden behind them as they walked the length of the headland with cowbells shaking, horns blowing, goatskin drums beating – you can see from Mom’s expression how absolutely awesome and jaw-dropping this was for the groom and the guests! Best bridal entrance idea – ever!
Sunset portraits, cocktails, dancing, a little limbo – all with great fun, lots of laughs. Thank you Jeni and Chris for an awesome wedding weekend!
