Mia + Ant will be getting married in January but decided they wanted to a late engagement photo shoot in Harbour Island. For those of you who are unfamiliar, Harbour Island is a quaint, old-world Bahamian island located off of the main island of Eleuthera. Amongst its claim to fame are pink sand beaches and India Hicks. Harbour Island is an interesting and eclectic mix of uber-wealth living alongside shantys, or beat up trucks driving alongside stylized golf carts, of kaftan-wearing visitors shopping alongside barefoot local children. The beauty of Harbour Island is that it has kept the old world charm of architecture and as you travel the tiny streets of this 3-mile island, and especially in the heart of Dunmore Town (its capital) you will find original Bahamian homes built in the traditional New England style architecture.
Mia + Ant took full advantage of the many location gems for photography. We started at the Haunted House and made our way through beach paths, and historic neighbourhoods, stopping in at The Landing and Rock House, then came the obligatory Kalik-beer-in-a-golf-cart shot!
So much fun and such an amazing couple to work with. Can’t wait to photograph the wedding! The old world charm of this amazing island led me to edit with some aging effects and b/w conversions – it just seemed to suit. I hope you enjoy!
