Another fun Texas family wedding at the fabulous Atlantis Resorts, Paradise Island, Bahamas. Nadia & Casey touched base with me many months ago to begin planning this energetic and vibrant wedding weekend, which started out with a cocktail reception at Virgil’s Restaurant in the Coral Towers, Atlantis. See the colourful bags in the photos? They were all hand designed by Nadia’s 1st grade students to hand out as gift bags to the guests – beautiful and so touching!
Day 2 meant a fun bridal prep session with gorgeous Nadia, her 6 super fun bridesmaids, her mom (who hand made her simple yet elegant wedding dress!) and her cute cute little nieces.
Matthew Sweeting, the Island Preacha, was the officiant and who can help but laugh and cry at his touching, personal yet relaxed ceremonies. The most challenging photo of the day was the group shot of 120 guests – you can imagine the chaos! – but it was fun and everybody tried to add their own creative touch to the image (see below)… After sunset pics on the beautiful Cove beach it was off to party at Fathoms – the “underwater” event space with spectacular views of the Atlantis marine life and the crazy big manta ray who lives there at the moment. A junkanoo drummer and a little fire dancing along with some creative face painting wrapped up the party nicely.
I heard the bride and groom were heading off for a super adventurous honeymoon in a remote Amazon village – I really really think they should have taken this destination wedding photographer along with them! Ah, well, maybe next time. Cheers to Nadia & Casey and to many many happy and adventurous years together, and to mom Beth for all of her tremendous planning and hard work.
