Grandma Robin’s xx birthday was being celebrated in the Bahamas with her 2 sons and their beautiful families and so daughter-in-law Jessica thought it would be the perfect time to get some family photos. We all know how hard it is to get family together for these things, right? So why not do it when everyone is captive on an island – especially one as beautiful as Paradise Island.
The Riu hotel doesn’t have much green space and the beach is usually pretty packed until dinner time so we worked with the small garden area in front of the hotel for some greenery shots while we waited for the bikini clad tourists and the jet ski operators to clear off of the beach – just in time for that beautiful golden hour light. Working with the littlest ones can sometimes be a challenge, but I love their independence and determination to do their own thing and as long as we let Emma chew on grass or handfuls of sand she was as happy as a kid could be during a 1 hour photo session! Really, those kids were just too cute for words. (Make sure you look at the last image on this post to find out why you should never, ever leave your camera lying around unattended 🙂
And this is what happens when you set your camera down for a few minutes to show Grandma and kids how to make a jump shot work – some crazy family member sneaks away with your camera and snaps a gazillion selfies – these images are the “best” of that selection! Ah, good times……
