Tara and Jackson are super fun southerners who brought their equally wild and crazy family and friends from South and North Carolina to celebrate this magical day at the world-renown exclusive resort community of Albany, Bahamas. While I spend a lot of time there, this was my first wedding and we could not have asked for more perfect weather. Because temps were perfect we are able to make full use of the gorgeous property and landscaping to take some great bride and groom photos.
The day started with bridal prep photos in their family villa – dig the groovy sunglasses that the bridesmaids received – and then we wondered the property to capture some fun photos on the beach, on the dock and in the beautiful archways of the original estate house. After a beach wedding just before the magic hour of sunset, the reception took place at the very sophisticated, adult only Azul pool deck and bar. Amazing food, a DJ that kept 89-year old Meme dancing until the wee hours and the traditional Junkanoo group made for a memorable night with some dance moves that I did not think the human body was capable of manipulating.
Other than Tara’s amazingly warm and open personality, and other than crazy dancing granny, what really stood out for me was the relationship between Jackson and his father – it was really moving (and a first for me) to see a groom have his father standing beside him at the alter and to me that speaks volumes as to the kind of man Jackson is and the kind of husband he will be.
When I post to my blog I don’t actually look for the images that are the most technically perfect as many photographers do but instead I like to pick the ones that I think best tell the story of the day. I hope you enjoy!
